Astrocartography takes your birth chart and projects it onto a world map. It shows where each planet was rising, setting, or reaching its peak at the moment you were born. The result is a map of places where different parts of you become stronger or weaker — where you feel more confident, where relationships flow easier, where work goes better, or where you can finally rest.

What is a planetary line?

A planetary line shows where a specific planet was rising (ASC), setting (DC), or reaching its peak (MC) or lowest point (IC) at the moment you were born. Live near that line and the planet’s energy becomes stronger in your life.

Lines vs aspects — which matters more?

In most cases, aspects matter more than exact lines. A strong planetary line can look good on paper, but if that planet forms tense aspects with other planets in your chart at that specific location, this tension can interfere with the line’s energy and create a conflicting or uneasy feeling there. On the other hand, a city with no major line but sitting in a clean harmonious aspect zone often feels more supportive and pleasant to live in.

Use Lines when you want to strongly activate a particular planet.
Use Harmonious Aspects to find places where the overall energy feels cleaner and less complicated — even if there’s no strong planetary line nearby.
Avoid Tense Aspects, as they tend to add friction and can undermine an otherwise good location.

How close to a line do I need to be?

As a general rule: within ~100 km the line is strong and noticeable in daily life, and up to ~200 km the influence is still clearly present, though softer. You don’t need to measure anything yourself — NatalPass automatically labels every city as Direct Hit, Close, Nearby, or Somewhat, for both lines and aspects.
